Fort Vale celebrate 40th Anniversary
Inside the marquee
Fort Vale Engineering Ltd commemorated their 40th Anniversary in style on Friday 11th May 2007 when they held a Ball at their new premises in Simonstone, Lancashire. The Ball was a celebration of the company’s 40 years in business and a “thank you” to all employees for their loyalty, commitment and expertise in ensuring the continued success of the company.
Over 140 employees and their partners, including representatives from the European branches of Fort Vale, attended the special party in a marquee erected inside the new factory where they were wined, dined and entertained until the small hours. The directors thought it was the ideal occasion for employees to become better acquainted with their new premises, which will be ready to move into later in 2007.

Edward S. Fort founded Fort Vale Engineering Ltd in 1967 in small premises in Colne, Lancashire, employing just a handful of people. By 1975 the number of employees had risen to 13. In 2007 the company employs 240 people in the UK and has offices all over the world, with the Fort Vale Group having 550 personnel in total. Fort Vale received the prestigious Queen’s Award for Export Achievement in both 1981 and 1986 and Edward Fort was honoured to receive an O.B.E. for Services to Industry in 1987.
